Happy Surprise!

Today while singing with my preschoolers, we heard a "big" truck outside. The kids always get excited when a large vehicle goes by the house. ( The trash truck is a favorite.) Well today it was exciting for me.... it was the Fed Ex truck, and after waiting to see if he would visit my house, or the neighbors house, he came to my door.
He handed Dave one of my favorite boxes, green and brown with the letters. P R O F L O W E R S!!! I was very excited to open this fun box (so were the kids)!

Thanks to the wonderful woman who thought to send them to me!! I love the flowers, they are beautiful. The preschoolers all fought over who would get to hold the balloon. :)

Happy Birthday to Me!!

Last night I had a very fun surprise!! My birthday isn't until the 24th, but Dave told me that I shouldn't plan anything on the 17th. He wouldn't tell me what it was, but he was very excited. I knew it involved tickets to something, but I wasn't sure of what it was. So we got all dressed up and headed out on the town. (Thanks Lani for keeping Ethan!) We arrived at ASU's Gammage Theater, and I still hadn't been told what we were seeing. I didn't know until we were handed our Playbill. We saw....

Dave was somewhat nervous about what my reaction would be. I am not a big fan of the older musicals and theater. I love all of the newer shows, ie Wicked, Phantom, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Hairspray, Mama Mia, Miss Saigon, etc. I have to admit that Camelot wasn't the show I would have ever chosen to see. But I had a great evening. Dave was so excited to share this show with me because he had been a part of a production of Camelot when he was in high school. I can see why he loves the show so much. Thanks Dave for planning such a fun evening. Lou Diamond Phillips played King Aruthur, he was good, but the guy who was Lancelot was amazing!!! I could have listened to him sing all night. It was a wonderful night, I loved being with Dave on a date. I have a great husband!!!!!

I also just want to say thanks to my parents for my new vacuum. I NEVER liked to vacuum, however Dave and I are now fighting over who gets to do it:) Thanks Mom and Dad, it is a great birthday present.

Family...

I love my family. I can't imagine life without all of the wonderful people who love me. The past week has been a very difficult one for me. As I have talked to many members of my family, I have felt their love. I know that prayers have been offered in my behalf and I have been comforted. The Lord has blessed me greatly to have such a wonderful husband and son, as well as parents & siblings. I am so thankful for the Temple, and the knowledge that my family is one for Eternity.

On Wednesday night, I just needed help. My newest Holler sister called me and told me she would be here first thing Thursday morning. (She lives in California) What an answer to prayer she has been. She has helped me with all of the many things that I could never have completed by myself. I love you Ashley, thanks for loving me!!!

I have been reminded in many ways this week that the Lord knows each of us individually, and that he does hear our prayers. Also the importance of family. We did not come to Earth to be by our selves. Even though we often do feel that way, we are never alone. We are blessed to be given families. Our families don't just consist of our parents and siblings. But the people we associate with at Church, work and in our neighborhoods can also be considered family.

Thanks for being my family. I love you more than you know.

Happy for the Chargers?

As most of you know, Dave grew up in Colorado. This being said, he is a Huge Denver Bronco fan. He was sad because most of this seasons games were not broadcast here in Phoenix. Anyway, in August before the football season started, Dave called our good friend Marty. Marty grew up in San Diego CA, thus being a Chargers fan. Both teams had a good chance at winning the division title. They decided that if Denver won the division then Marty would have to get a Bronco t-shirt and if San Diego won, Dave would have to get a Chargers shirt.
Here are the pictures of the final result.

Dave really liked this shirt because it is actually 2 shirts. Yes, he wore it in public to a Mexican restaurant:)

But here is the best part, here is how he paid for it!!

Thanks to M& M for being such great friends!! We love and miss you, hope to see you soon. Dave said he is up to try it again next year. Congrats to the Chargers!!!
